Premium kiln-dried hardwood, hand-selected and delivered to your door across the Triangle and the Triad. We guarantee no wet wood, no bugs, no hassle.

North Carolina is our first market outside Virginia, Washington DC and Maryland. The wood stages at our Southside Virginia yard in South Boston, an hour above Greensboro and ninety minutes above Raleigh, and our own contracted drivers deliver it: kiln-dried hardwood cut to consistent 16 inch splits, stacked where you want it, with a photo when it is done. Delivery is $50 across Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill and Greensboro and $60 for Cary, Apex, Winston-Salem and the outer towns, applied automatically at checkout by zip.
North Carolina sells most of its firewood seasoned, by the face cord, off a truck. Kiln-dried is the upgrade: dried to a low moisture content so it lights in a minute, burns hot with little smoke, and is safe to keep in the garage because the kiln kills insects and mold. We sell it by the fraction of a cord, a 4x8 ft stack being one third, and every delivery comes with a ticket that says exactly what was delivered.

Clark's Firewood began in 2015, when 11-year-old Clark Donovan started splitting logs for his family's fires on their farm in Upperville, Virginia. Neighbors wanted wood that actually lit, burned clean, and showed up on time. So he built a business around exactly that.
Clark continues to run the company daily as a student at the University of Virginia. Over 500 returning clients across Virginia, DC, and Maryland trust us each season, and North Carolina is next.

Yes, all of it. Kiln-dried is drier than seasoned: it lights faster, burns hotter with less smoke, and is safe to store indoors because the kiln kills insects and mold.

New to buying firewood? Start with how much firewood you need, what a cord is, and why kiln-dried burns better.
We deliver across the Triangle (Wake, Durham, Orange, Johnston, Franklin, Granville and Chatham counties) and the Triad (Guilford, Forsyth, Alamance, Rockingham, Randolph and Davidson counties), plus the towns between them and the Virginia line. Every order is kiln-dried hardwood, hand-selected by Clark, cut to consistent 16 inch splits, and delivered to your door: no bugs, no mold, no wet logs that will not light. Order Mixed Hardwoods, 100% Oak, or the firewood and steel rack combo.
Kiln-Dried Mixed Hardwoods start at $140 for a 2x4 ft stack, $220 for 4x4, $360 for 4x8 (our most popular order, about a third of a cord), and $700 for 4x16. Kiln-Dried 100% Oak is $175, $300, $420, and $800 for the same sizes. Delivery is $40 in the towns closest to our South Boston yard (Henderson, Oxford, Roxboro, Reidsville, Eden), $50 across Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Greensboro and High Point, and $60 for Cary, Apex, Holly Springs, Winston-Salem, Burlington and the outer Triangle and Triad towns. Full breakdown in firewood prices explained.
The usual places to buy firewood in North Carolina are a grocery bundle (a few dollars a log, often damp), a landscape yard (you load it, haul it, and unload it), or a roadside truck (a "cord" that is rarely a cord and rarely dry). We skip all three: order online in two minutes, a driver brings kiln-dried hardwood to your door, stacks it if you like, and texts you a photo. Compare the real cost per fire in bundles vs delivered.
Most firewood sold in North Carolina is "seasoned," which means air-dried for some length of time nobody can verify. Ours is kiln-dried: brought to low moisture in a kiln, tested, consistent every batch, free of insects and mold, and safe to store in a garage or next to the fireplace. It lights on the first match and burns hotter with less smoke. The full comparison is in kiln-dried vs seasoned.
A cheap cord is usually a face cord (a third of a cord) that is short-logged and wet. Wet wood wastes a chunk of its heat boiling off water, part of the load never catches, and the rest coats your chimney. Priced per fire that actually burns, a $360 kiln-dried 4x8 stack usually beats the $250 roadside "cord." See how much is a cord of firewood for the math.
For a wood stove, a second home, or a whole season at once, the 4x16 stack (two thirds of a cord, about 160 fires) is $700 for Mixed Hardwoods or $800 for Oak, and you can order more than one. Stacking is a small add-on, so a season of wood lands in your shed or on your racks without you lifting a log. Use how much firewood do I need to size it.
