Patrick County still heats with wood, and a stove that runs from November to March is where kiln-dried hardwood pays off: full heat from the first load, a clean flue, and no green cord spending the summer drying. A 4x16 stack in the shed is the usual stove order; fireplaces take a 4x8.

Clark's Firewood began in 2015, when 11-year-old Clark Donovan started splitting logs for his family's fires on their farm in Upperville, Virginia. Neighbors wanted wood that actually lit, burned clean, and showed up on time. So he built a business around exactly that.
